Responsibilities 
  • Create takeoffs for all material purchases & subcontractor divisions; build labor estimates and schedules.
  • Coordinate with the project management team in developing logistics plans, schedules, and all operational requirements during the preconstruction phase and during construction.
  • Lead and manage self-perform teams, subcontractor activities and quality control.
  • Address subcontractor field issues affecting budget, quality, or schedule.
  • Maintain a daily job site log.
  • Coordinate all field construction services and activities.
  • Maintain the schedule and budget; make changes as necessary to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Document field-related project concerns that may influence budget, quality, or schedule. Collaborate with the project management team to develop solutions and address concerns.
  • Distribute and coordinate all field trade tasks in accordance with varying project requirements.
  • Manage field-related document control and follow organizational best practices for document control, schedule updates, change management.
  • Attend and participate in project meetings, OACs, and all relevant meetings with project management, clients, architects, and subcontractors.
  • Constant communication with the Project Team.
  • Ensure quality standards are met.
  • Procurement, Materials and Asset Management: Placing orders for materials and being responsible for all equipment and materials on site.
  • Monitoring and ensuring on-site safety compliances. Maintaining and updating a safety/injury log for their project.
  • Maintain site cleanliness and orderliness.
  • Keep detailed records for site personnel.
 
Qualifications
  • University degree in Construction Management or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in project delivery, preferably in the life sciences sector.
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale capital projects, especially in manufacturing facilities such as laboratories.
  • Comprehensive knowledge in areas such as automation, construction quality, project controls, engineering disciplines, safety, and scheduling.
  • Experience with utilities, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and clean utilities essential for life sciences facilities.
  • Previous experience managing projects with budgets ranging from $5 million to $75 million.
