Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and communicative Public Affairs Coordinator to join our team.   This role is pivotal in supporting our Public Affairs and Branding initiatives. While a solid background in Public Affairs is not a strict requirement, we are keen on candidates who showcase exceptional listening and communication skills, coupled with a sound understanding of project management principles.  
  
Key Responsibilities  
  • Public Affairs Support: Assist in the development and execution of public affairs strategies to positively influence public opinion and promote our organization's objectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with key stakeholders, including media, public agencies, and community organizations, to build and maintain positive relationships.
  • Content Creation: Support the creation and dissemination of press releases, speeches, newsletters, and social media content in alignment with our branding and public affairs goals.
  • Project Management: Coordinate public affairs projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within scope. Utilize project management tools to track progress and report to senior management.
  • Event Coordination:  Assist in organizing public events, press conferences, and public meetings, managing logistics and ensuring effective communication of our message.
  • Listening and Analysis: Monitor public opinion and media coverage related to our organization, providing insightful reports to guide public affairs strategies.
Qualifications  
  • Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Communications, Public Affairs, or related field required. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience in public affairs, government relations, advocacy, or related field, preferably within the healthcare or life sciences industry.
  • Demonstrated understanding of healthcare policy issues, legislative processes, and regulatory environments at the local, state, national, and international levels.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize complex information into clear and concise communications for diverse audiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including policymakers, industry partners, and advocacy groups.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with advocacy software, media monitoring tools, and database management systems preferred.
