Laboratory Technician I

The Laboratory Technician performs laboratory procedures related to setting up, performing tests, reading results if trained and laboratory cleaning maintenance. The Laboratory Technician may interact with clients to discuss results of testing performed but is not to discuss any interpretation of the results or to consult on complex testing issues. The Laboratory Technician I has the responsibility to perform duties in accordance with established methods and protocols.

1. Set up and analyze tests using aseptic technique and according to protocols, specifications, and directives.
2. Collaborate with the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of quality systems.
3. Perform laboratory testing in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025.
4. Review and maintain records for compliance with laboratory specifications.
5. Travel to and conduct on-site sampling at client sites on a daily/weekly basis (when required)
6. Collecting samples in cleanroom environments requires strict adherence to gowning procedures.
7. Perform required calculations.

1. 1. Collaborates with the schedule and conduct of laboratory tests.
   2. Collaborates in scheduling and conduct of the laboratory.
   3. Assists with scheduling and conducts of qualifications, validations, and calibrations. 
   4. Collaborates in drafting, executing, and reviewing of qualification

Preferred Work Experience:

               1-year experience in a laboratory setting
               Knowledge of Universal Blood and Body Fluid Precautions.

Education:

Required: High School Diploma
