Laboratory Administrative Assistant

Job Description

Azzur Group is seeking a Laboratory Administrative Assistant I to perform the administrative duties required to support the laboratory.  Laboratory Administrative assistant I have the responsibility to draft reports, notifications, and invoices from laboratory test results, answer phone calls and greet visitors, maintain the inventory of the office and laboratory areas, and perform cleaning in the office and laboratory areas.

  1. Data entry – transposing data into Excel, Access and writing reports
  2. Manages office and laboratory supply inventory and processes office and laboratory supply orders
  3. Receives/delivers packages, mail, and paperwork
  4. Receives laboratory supplies
  5. Follows technical and nontechnical procedures required to process and submit samples. This includes assigning report ID numbers, checking paperwork for accuracy, locating and correcting any discrepancies, and recoding all items processed.
  6. Forwards accessioned samples to designated laboratory location(s)
  7. Receives client orders and ships materials to clients
  8. Transmits reports and invoices to clients
  9. Drafts and sends client notifications
  10. Performs general laboratory and office cleaning
  11. Answers telephones and routes callers to appropriate staff person. Correctly takes phone messages and directs messages to the appropriate person.
  12. Greets office visitors and announces to the appropriate staff person
  13. Assists in the drafting of methods and protocols
  14. Reviews logbook and documentation for entry errors
  15. Assists the Quality Director and/or Manager with a higher level   Assists with audits quality system documentation and qualification execution.
